About us
The GP Australia website is the result of collaboration between organisations which contribute to and participate in providing general practice training, and promote specialisation in general practice to junior doctors and medical students. GP Australia is an information portal, presenting an overview of the steps to a career in general practice with links to more detailed information available from the organisations which are part of the largest medical specialty training program in Australia.
The GP Australia website is owned and managed by General Practice Registrars Australia Ltd (GPRA), it was produced with funding from the Australian Government through General Practice Education and Training Limited (GPET).
GPRA is a registered health charity which represents GP Registrars and provides information and services to them during their training. GPRA also promotes general practice as a career option to medical students and junior doctors who have yet to choose their area of specialisation. Through its Research and Education Fund, GPRA supports education and research in the medical sector.
